 Thank you to all of the Yancey County Democrats who voted in the North Carolina 11th Congressional District primary. 

I am grateful to have earned over 60 percent of your votes in the five-person Democratic field. I am encouraged that of all the voters who cast ballots in Yancey County in the two congressional races, Democratic voters (47 percent) were nearly equal to Republican voters (53 percent) in a county that Trump won with over 64 percent of the votes in 2016 and Mark Meadows won with over 60 percent of the votes in 2018. 

It’s going to take that same kind of enthusiasm and turnout in November for us to make this district blue again. I look forward to working with you as together we spread the message that the path to progress on issues confronting Yancey County residents like healthcare, education, poverty and the environment begins with voting for Democrats on Election Day.
