Yancey County Board of Education Candidates

Our Mission:

By state law the Yancey County Board of Education is obligated to provide a “sound basic education” to all students in Yancey County Schools. It is vital for our local economy, community, and institutions that we provide a world-class education to all students in Yancey County Schools. All students must be equipped to lead successful lives and contribute to society to the best of their individual abilities and desires. We are committed to making decisions and providing the necessary resources needed to prepare our students for the 21st Century and beyond.

Ronnie Randolph

My personal reason for seeking this office is to continue the excellence and growth I personally witnessed and contributed to Yancey County schools during my career. This can only happen if all stakeholders feel they have a voice and our elected officials are not afraid to celebrate the decisions they make on behalf of their constituents.

Jeanne Tyner

Educating our children and young adults tops the list of our community’s most important work. I am thankful for public schools and for devoted families, staff, and community volunteers who work together to make our schools stronger. I am proud that Yancey County Schools offers a variety of education pathways that meet the needs of students moving immediately to the workforce, those choosing to earn vocational degrees or other certifications/licenses, or those choosing four-year college or university programs. We must provide for each with excellence so our students can achieve their goals.
